Huawei Wins Top Award for Significant Innovation at 2013 LTE World Summit in Amsterdam Jun 28th 2013, 07:35 Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, announced it won a top industry award in recognition of the company's significant achievements in LTE commercialization and innovation at the 2013 LTE World Summit in Amsterdam. The award for "Best Innovative LTE Launch" recognized Huawei's endeavors and achievements in LTE commercial rollouts. Huawei recently built the world's largest GSM/LTE 1800MHz refarming network using its end-to-end SingleRAN LTE/EPC solution. The solution allowed the customer to integrate an existing GSM network and a new LTE network on a single platform to simplify overall network architecture, realize significant savings on expenditures for new spectral resources, and reduce Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and carbon emissions. Ying Weimin, Huawei President for GSM/UMTS/LTE Networks, said: "This award is a testament to both Huawei's and its partners' endeavors to move LTE forward through collaboration. We are committed to helping operators build efficient, sustainable and profitable mobile broadband networks, all the while opening up new high-potential markets and bringing people a wonderful service experience." By May 2013, Huawei had won more than 180 commercial LTE network contracts and deployed 85 commercial LTE networks worldwide. With a global business footprint on six continents, Huawei LTE covers more than 80 capitals and nine top global financial centers. Huawei solutions for LTE builds upon the successful foundation of SingleRAN amid industry movement away from voice-and-text, pure-pipe services to an era of data diversity and new vertical market revenue streams.
