NTT DoCoMo pressuring Samsung to release first Tizen phone in January 2014 Nov 13th 2013, 20:49, by Maximus Samsung might be looking towards making Tizen a force to reckon with in the mobile industry (and also the automobileand other sectors), but constant delays mean we're yet to see a smartphone running on the company's upcoming OS. We have a camera based on Tizen, but as far as mobile devices are concerned, the constant delays Samsung has faced aren't looking good for Tizen, with an early 2013 launch first pushed into the last quarter of the year, before being delayed to sometime in the first quarter of 2014. Well, according to the Korean media, Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo is supposedly unhappy with Samsung's progress, and is pressuring the Korean manufacturer to launch the first Tizen phone as early as January 2014. Being one of the largest partners and backers of the Tizen foundation, the Japanese carrier is no doubt feeling the heat as Samsung continues to push the release date of a Tizen phone further and further. However, perhaps pressure from carriers and partners is exactly what Samsung needs to double down on Tizen development and launch a device as soon as possible, though whether that pressure actually bears any fruit remains to be seen. http://www.sammobile.com
