Samsung Display establishes US-based patent firm May 27th 2013, 14:30 Last week, Samsung Display confirmed to have invested $25 million to create a company specialising in patents. The company, Intellectual Keystone Technology (IKT) is completely owned by Samsung Display and is based in Washington D.C., USA that will look after trading and developing patents. Samsung recently established IKT. Patents are a good source of innovation and we also need to protect our intellectual property by strengthening our patent-related business. In late April, IKT purchased display-related patents from Japan's Seiko Epson and given the display subsidiary backing the newly created firm, Korea Times' source claims IKT's main responsibility could be to buy LCD and OLED related patents since they can "generate revenue regardless of market situations". In 2012, Samsung Group's another subsidiary – Samsung Electronics held the second position for the number of patents registered in the United States. http://sammyhub.com
