Taiwan-based makers have prepared 10-12 million iPad mini's worth of components for shipping in the fourth quarter, the sources indicated. However, supplies of touch panels has been insufficient, the sources pointed out. Therefore, only eight million iPad minis are expected to be shipped in the quarter.
