According to the resource DigiTimes on the world's largest mobile market in China, has sold 90.54 million handsets in the first quarter of 2013. This means sales growth of 23.5% compared to the last quarter of 2012 and by 34% compared with the same period a year earlier. More interesting is the fact that of the 90-million, 75.28 million units belonged to the segment of smartphones . Growth compared to the previous quarter was 32.2% and for the year shipments increased by 141.5%. Leading manufacturers of preserves Korean company Samsung , which accounts for 17.3% of total sales. The remaining places in the ranking are occupied predominantly by local brands. Two exceptions in the top ten: Apple in sixth place with 6.4% of the market and HTC in ninth with 3.1%. The top 5 include Lenovo with 13.1%, Coolpad (10.3%), Huawei (10.1%) and ZTE (6.9%). Outside of the top five are companies whose names and products are little known or non-existent outside of China.
